Transportation Information
For students and their families interested in forming carpools, ATDP will provide a list of other students from their area who are also interested in carpooling. Students then contact each other and arrange their own carpools. ATDP sends carpool lists only to students who have been accepted into the program, who request the list, and who are themselves included in it. The lists are available in late spring. Further information will be provided in the acceptance packets.
Due to the limited parking available around the UC Berkeley campus, ATDP recommends that families investigate traveling to campus via public transportation. Most ATDP courses are located within a ten-minute walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. A campus perimeter shuttle ($1.00) stops at the BART station and serves Tolman Hall and more distant campus locations, as does AC Transit.
The UC Berkeley Visitor's Center website offers public transit information, in addition to driving directions to campus, and parking information.
Parking Information
Parking is difficult near campus. Street parking in the areas surrounding the campus is restricted to two hours for non-residents. For further information, visit the Parking and Transportation website or call their office at (510) 643-7701.
